Bought advance dragons 2, it does not work at all. Any attempt to load crashes minecraft and says "the software was closed because an error occurred."

I am on the recently updated version of Minecraft and Nintendo Switch and it is still crashing, please help! This was a positive reward for my son and he can't play it.
