im running windows 7 and i have the latest version of java. i don't actually know what version of minecraft i have. . .

What I expected to happen was...:
The minecraft launcher to run normally, and then be able to play
What actually happened was...:
i got this error message. "The Registry refers to a nonexistent Java Runtime Enviroment installation or the runtime is corrupt. the system cannot find the file specified
Steps to Reproduce:
1. click the minecraft shortcut. in my case, Minecraft (6)
2. click "run" on the pop-up
3. I get the error message
