Upon starting the laucher via either the direct exe, windows start screen or desktop shortcut, following message appears (translated):
"""
Are you the owner of this game or app?
Check if you have a valid subscription to acces this content and if you are signed in on an account that has a valid subscription. If you bought this online, check if you are signed in. If you are not owner of this game, you are required to download it from the Microsoft Store.
Errorcode: (0x803f8001)
"""
I am subsequently prompted with "Show in Microsoft Store" or "Manage subscription". Opening the launcher by clicking play in the store SOMETIMES works but usually not. Clicking "Manage subscription" redirects to xbox games in my browser which is completely useless as it tells me what I know already: I do in fact own minecraft java edition.
The error code redirects me to the most obscure general FAQ page ever which provides no further clarification.
What I have tried:
- Restart laptop
- Update to the newest (usually preview) version of windows
- Reinstall minecraft launcher
- Sign out and back in again in microsoft store
Theres no clear pattern to which solution works, I simply have to hope that it works.
Screenshot of the message is shown in attachment. I hope someone can help me and potentially others with this issue and I thank thee in advance.
