Whenever I try and launch Minecraft I am greeted with this error message:

Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine. Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

I have googled fixes, and each one of them hasn't helped. I set up a new system variable for Java and it didn't help. I selected the run as administrator option for Java and that didn't work. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Java and that didn't work. 

I would appreciate some assistance as i am out of options
