Minecraft will not start on latest versions if I am using the official launcher.

Whenever I start Minecraft using the launcher, it prepares for about a minute, then it starts downloading an update. It takes a very long time to download the update, then it gets stuck on Finalizing. The update size is different every time and the amount downloaded is disproportionate to the loading bar.
