I am encountering a bug where whenever I access any type of menu no new sounds start playing and do not return for a while, but it does eventually come back sometimes and other times it just crashes.
The more actions done that involve the menus (Example: Enchanting, scrapping, buying from blacksmith multiple times) increases the time the game spends delaying the sounds and thus increasing the chance of a crash occurring.
When the sound comes back all the sounds that would have played during this time play at the same time.
Menus that can be interacted with are:
- Inventory
- Main menu
- Blacksmith/Wandering trader
- Friends tab
During this time enemies stop moving but will still attack if able to and consumables fall through the floor.
If I try to play a mission during this time the game crashes. It has been happening since launch and I'm on PC.
Frequency: 100% (On accessing any menu)
Severity: 80% (Infuriating when trading or changing gear)
Specs:
- Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
- Processor: Intel Core i5-7500 @ 3.4GHz
- 16GB Ram
How to recreate:
Open the game and access the inventory (it's the easiest method)

Update:
I ran the game on my laptop and everything worked as intended. So it might be that another software is interfering or a hardware problem but i'm still not sure.
Final Update (Fixed):
I found the solution to my problem. Turns out the sound card needed to be updated manually.
