I was fighting the boss and died. After I respawned I launched myself back towards the platform which held the ender heart boss and I suddenly stopped midair. I tried rolling which didn't work and all my abilities which did not help. 

Update: Idk what happened but I was able to make myself lower into the void and spawn back onto the land.
