From what I can tell there seems to be a bug that affects how guardians spawn. In my world, I found an ocean monument, drained it, took out the structure itself, and decided to build a farm using the bounding box. While looking through youtube for a design to use I stumbled upon a video from someone named Iskall. He made a guardian farm and in his video, it seemed to work extremely well (link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JGtyiFr5mY&list=WL&index=7&t=0s). Because of this, I decided to build it myself and this is where I noticed the problem (which I'm assuming is a bug). The image attached (hopefully it attached correctly) shows two chambers and as you can see something is wrong, only one side has spawns despite the fact that everything is the same except the material used for the floor. On the left side, the floor is made of prismarine, but the right side is made of soul sand and involves bubble columns to push the guardians up into a funnel. The design Iskall used is based on the soul sand mechanics meaning that this particular farm does not work. I am not entirely sure as to why the guardians spawn on one type of block, but not the other especially when the video shows them doing so. However, it should be noted that he is on the Java edition of the game while I am on PS4. I know there are some differences between the two, but it seems weird to me that this may be one of them.
