Already for months Minecraft on the PS4 is unplayable in either Survival or Creative modes, either from saved games or new games. Deleting and reinstalling the game has made no difference at all. Playing offline or online doesn't help either.
What I do is starting a new game, single player, offline, in either Creative or Survival. First of all the Load game screen takes minutes to load, even if there is nothing to display (after a fresh install, for instance). Next I create a new game, which seems to go OK but shortly after I start the mining goes corrupt. Within seconds or minutes I can't collect any blocks at the bottom of the screen and next "An error occured exiting to main menu" message appears. Upon clicking OK it shows the start screen and the game has become completely unresponsive. Only restarting the PS4 will help now.
Interestingly the mini games work just fine.
I have searched high and low on the internet to find a solution to this issue but have found none. Our PS4 is pretty new, a slim model from December last year. Hard disk still has over 200 gigs free.
