After about 7 auto saves if i do a hard save, game gets stuck on save screen

if me and my friend are playing on a world for about 2 hours the game tries to save but gets stuck on the save screen with no green bar or sign of it trying to load. if i do a hard save about 1 of 5 times it will do this. i have to quit the game and reload it.
