Feeding baby chickens with wheat seeds won't make them mature.

    • Type: Bug
    • Status: Resolved
    • Resolution: Works As Intended
    • Affects Version/s: TU31/CU19/1.22
    • Fix Version/s: None
    • Labels:
    • Affected Platforms:
      PlayStation 3

I was starting up a chicken farm in my survival world. Since I only had a few chickens in the farm, and had lots of excess wheat seeds, I tried to speed up the baby chickens' growth using my extra wheat seeds. That way, I could expand my farm quicker.

What I expected to happen was...:
The baby chickens should have grown into adult chickens after using about 10 seeds on them.

      What actually happened was...:
My seeds were used up, and the green star-like particle effects were displayed, but the baby chickens didn't grow at all, even after using an entire stack (64) of seeds on them.

      Steps to reproduce:
      1. Find some chickens (at least two).
      2. Breed them with wheat seeds.
      3. When the baby chicken spawns, use the wheat seeds on it too. Notice that no matter how many seeds you use, the baby chicken does not mature.

Note: This bug may affect other platforms/versions, though I haven't tested any of them. It also may affect other types of animals.

EDIT: Feeding baby chickens takes off 10% of the remaining time, not 10% of the total time. This means that the baby chicken would never grow up instantly; only very quickly (down to 1.41 seconds using a stack (64) of seeds on one chicken). Thanks to Robin Aarden for his comment, and clearing up the misunderstanding.
