To help keep mods super-compatible, you could signify if a block has information to be carried to other blocks, so that other mods could react appropriately. Example: If one mod features data cables, energy cables, or item pipes, a developer could easily ensure the player can use the change of state to activate an automation block to input an item into another block, or turn on or off a factory.
