Windows 8, (NO JAVA version from Minecraft.net (Do not ask me to download java please))
-
Unconfirmed
Every time I open the .msi file (NON-JAVA) from Minecraft.net, I get "Unable to download Minecraft. Please try again later.)
Every time I open the .exe file (NON-JAVA) from Minecraft.net, it lets me login, but when I click play, it continues to load forever, and never stops (waited two hours one time, nothing happened).
What I expected to happen was...:
It load, and then open up Minecraft with no problem.
What actually happened was...:
It continued to load forever., never opening Minecraft from the Launcher (Launcher version 1.6.61).
Steps to Reproduce:
FOR .MSI FILE (not java):
1. Download Minecraft Installer (.msi) from Minecraft.net.
2. Open Minecraft Installer
3. Install
4. Click on Minecraft shortcut created on Desktop.
5. My result: "Unable to download Minecraft. Please try again later."
FOR .EXE FILE (not java):
1. Download Minecraft (.exe) from Minecraft.net.
2. Open Minecraft.
3. Login.
4. Click play on Launcher Version 1.6.61.
5. My result: Wait forever, continues to load, never plays or opens Minecraft.
THINGS I'VE TRIED:
-Reinstalling
-Removing .minecraft file
-Stopping security (such as Fire Wall) briefly while downloading Minecraft and loading it.
-updating graphics and video driver
THINGS YOU MIGHT NEED TO KNOW:
Computer: Lenovo Laptop
RAM: 8 GB (shouldn't be a problem, have plenty left)
-Has had Minecraft on a different computer before, and has changed username. (doesn't affect login at all though)
--> When it loads, the bar does progress. Even when it gets to full it will still be "Downloading".
SOMETIMES:
It will load, and as it continues to load forever, the PLAY button will appear again. (From "Downloading..." to "Play")
LAUNCHER LOG OF .EXE FILE IS INCLUDED IN FILE ATTACHMENT!
(as .txt file)
(Waited about 10 minutes (i knew it wouldn't load no matter how long, however) when loading and pressed Play a second time when it appeared at a random point in those 7-8 minutes)
((Please, do not ask me to get the Java version.))
