Since 1.7 I get roughly 20 FPS on render distance 8 and most options turned on, but all 1.9 snapshots so far won't run above 10 FPS no matter what options I turn on or off.

I tested all 1.9 snapshots on new Creative and Survival worlds both with my usual settings and with render distance 2, fast, no smooth lighting, no clouds, mipmap both 0 and 4, entity shadows off, max framerate unlimited, no particles, vsync both on and off, VBO both on and off, no fullscreen, and no resource packs. Nothing really changes, still 11 FPS max.

The only way to increase the framerate is by changing the window size: even with my usual video options (render 8 chunks and most options on), I get 20 FPS on a 1/2 screen window size and 30 FPS on a 1/4 screen window size. In previous versions, changing the window size had almost no effect on FPS.

      NOTES:
Tested both in Creative and Survival.
The Java arguments in the launcher have not been changed nor checked.
The first and third pics were taken in a fully maximized window (not fullscreen), the second and fourth ones in a 1/4 screen window.
