In the creative menu, if you are already holding onto an arrow of one kind, and then click on an arrow of a different kind, you will select another arrow of the kind you originally had.
You can reproduce this by going into the creative menu and selecting an arrow of one kind, and then clicking on an arrow of a different kind.
