My friends and I were playing on our vanilla Minecraft survival server and had the idea of acquiring pet spiders. We found a couple of nametags and applied them to one regular spider and one cave spider. I built a home for them out of stone slabs and glass panes and made sure to light it to pacify them. After moving the spiders in, they eventually managed to escape their home through the glass panes.

What I expected to happen was...:
Spiders to be contained within a structure with windows made of glass panes.

      What actually happened was...:
Spiders clipped through the glass panes.

      Steps to Reproduce:
      1. Build a structure out of stone slabs with a line of glass panes in the wall.
      2. Insert spiders (possibly with nametags? It seems unrelated, though.)
      3. Observe? (This sounds like more of a waiting game. The escapes occurred multiple times over a period of days and my attempts to coax a spider through the glass in creative don't seem to make any difference.)

      Additional Notes:
      1. These weren't huge windows of glass panes. There was a single-block-tall line of glass planes placed around the walls of the building.
      2. The glass strip was placed above the first block off the ground, so that the player could look outside.
      3. The cave spider escaped twice while the regular spider only did once. It may be possible that the cave spider is more likely to escape due to its smaller size.
      4. The structure had more than enough room for the spiders (as shown by the second image).

      Image Notes:
One image is of the cave spider making his escape. It spent a lot of time on the block on which the pane was placed before finally stepping completely outside. The other depicts the interior of the building (the glass is covered in dirt to stop the other spider from escaping) for an understanding of how it should be built if one wishes to replicate this event.
