Playing Minecraft on windowed mode, everything operates normally at first, but after ~30-90 minutes the image of the Minecraft world will start to "glitch" intermittently when the display updates. During such a glitch, the whole Minecraft world flashes white/grey, then returns to normal at the next refresh. If no action is taken, the glitching becomes more frequent until Minecraft is unplayable.

If I quit Minecraft after this begins to happen, the flashing-style glitches stop, but often (not always) a different effect begins, in which some areas of the screen will display nonsense or stuff from another area of the screen when something happens to change what should be displayed, eg moving a window or opening a menu.

Only a full computer restart can fix this.

This definitely did not happen in Minecraft 1.8.0 or previous, and it definitely does happen in 1.8.4. Not sure about intermediate versions.
