This has occured once and I would not be able to replicate it, as it only occured once, as a visual bug.

Ender chest at eye level placed infront diagonally from a double chest across a chunk and biome border caused the chest's front to be graphically rendered infront of the ender chest, although it was behind. It stayed for a while, but as soon as the ender chest and chest moved out from directly inline, it corrected itself.
