A large clean cut hole through the map or through buildings

What I expected to happen was I would spawn at the last place I was and I would see nothing wrong

What actually happened was I go to a village I have my house at and there is a huge hole that is cleanly cut down to the last layer or two of stone blocks a lot of the houses the are bordering this hole are cleanly cut in two and one of the other houses where not finished being built

1. start Minecraft
2. go to single player
3. click any world I have had problems with structures in 2 worlds that I have built and that are placed there by the seed that are not built completely.
