Unconfirmed
Audio plays from the incorrect speaker on different events. It is most noticeable when stepping on any material except wood, which seems to work fine. It also happens with mobs and sometimes the breaking of blocks. Ghasts are the most noticeable, due to the extended range of their sounds. This was also in Minecraft 1.8.1-1.8.3.
This makes it very difficult to distinguish where mobs are positioned, and has nearly gotten me killed in the Nether when multiple Ghasts are placed. The footsteps issue makes exploring caves very tedious, as sometimes it becomes hard to tell if it is your footsteps or a mob walking behind or next to you.
How to reproduce with footsteps: Walk in a straight line with multiple material types on the ground. Include wood in the line. The wood should clearly sound different compared to other materials if this is reproducible.
How to reproduce with mobs: Place one type of mob that makes noise to the left you, then a different type to the right of you.
