In single-player a strange lag forms which causes a half second lag spike when a block is placed/broken, Especially when there is a light update such as breaking/placing a torch. The odd thing is that this lag only takes place in specific areas of my Minecraft world. It has occurred in multiple worlds on multiple PCs where, previous to staying on one place for a long period of time, this lag forms. This lag does not exist anywhere around the specific area, not even above or bellow it. There is a clear defined boarder as to where the lag exists and where it doesn't.

I sent the world file to multiple different PCs with the same result. The lag exists in the same exact locations. No video settings seem to help and
