Most dropped items glitch. They flicker side to side and get stuck in the corners of blocks on the ground instead of floating as they usually do. I only noticed this in 1.8.1-pre2, not in 1.8.1-pre1 or 1.8, however I only downloaded pre1 the day before pre2 was released, so I did not get a good look at it.
