I was recently playing Minecraft on my friend's SMP minecraft server. I joined using the typical way I always do, double clicking the server in my server list (Which I belive may cause this issue)

I joined in, and everything was normal. Suddenly, my framerate dropped down to 2 for a moment, then back to 60. After this happened however, I looked at my friend's character, and his nameplate was far off to the right, upside down. Around his foot level. And his, would-have been shadow, was hovering above the nameplate. I have tried this on other servers, craftbukkit, vanilla, spigot. Everything. It happens semi-rarely. This also happens whether I use modded, vanilla, whatever. It also happens whether or not other players are on the server with me. It also happens in 1.7.2 - 1.8 (The Affects Version/s field won't work for anything but 1.8.)

I do not know how to replicate this, though none of my friends have ever expirienced this. My only guess would be it has something to do with the game not expecting me to join a server, then suddenly being quickly fired up and told to connect. I have a few screenshots of what happened to prove it happened. (Note, the blue outline I have around my friend in the photo is a mod I have installed, it does not affect the outcome, and this bug happens whether or not I have mods installed.)
