In the new 1.8 version, in the Debug world type, if you go into creative mode and then break one of the signs, the block....hitting....thing, the thing you punch to break the block, will remain, but the texture will not. In the picture I have broken all the signs in the row of signs except the one (though this will be invisible if I break it as well)
