This is actually a very old problem, but it doesn't really make too much of a difference if it is changed or not, but since you guys (someone?) just fixed the fence hitboxes, maybe this one will be fixed too.
When a fence gate is open/closed, the clickbox is always the same, instead of changing like it does with the piston, door, and trapdoor.
