After I placed Stairs block (Doesnt matter which 1) I threw item on the block corner, not on top of it, but in stair transparent Like so:

I_Ix
I_____I x - represents where you throw it.

Item simply bounces off, like you throw item in cauldron.

I havent tested this on MP server.

Gamemode doesnt matter. This worked on both.
