When shooting a bow and arrow, the arrow appears to fall directly in front of the player.

The bow & arrow usually shows the trajectory of the arrow until it hits something.

The bug involves the arrow appearing to hit a barrier and fall to the ground a few blocks from the player. The arrow however acts normally, and can be picked up from where it was aimed, however, visually the arrow appears to fall to the ground.
