    • I believe everywhere, but I've only placed torches in caves, ravines, and mineshafts.

This happens more when you place the torch where there's a corner. It sometimes doesn't make light and sometimes it faces the wrong way. It happens the most in mineshafts. Also, but this is very rare, it will illuminate one side of something, but cut off the brightness on the other. You know that it's not supposed to be this way because if you place a torch there to illuminate it and then break that second torch, the first torch will start doing its job. Look at this before: http://puu.sh/aHn1W/838c63a2d3.png. I placed the torch and then waited, but there was no light. In the after I placed another torch so that you could see there is indeed a torch there, but it's not doing its job: http://puu.sh/aHn7z/53451e12c5.png. If you break the second torch then the first one starts doing its job again: http://puu.sh/aHnet/548ca64bc7.png (Pardon the chat. ) I have attached below a before and after screenshot. All I did was break and replace the torch and it fixed the lighting. The final two screenshots I attached show the torches facing weird directions.
