In a certain world i have spent a lot of time in, i am having some terrible frame issues. When i am looking directly ahead and standing still, i average around 10-20 fps. (When i look directly down or up, it increases to about 90, but this is because of the recent optimizations to Minecraft) However, when i am moving quickly and rapidly loading chunks, my performance drastically increases, as apposed to dropping like you might expect.
The only way i have found to increase my framerate other than constantly flying rapidly over the map is to drastically lower my draw distance. No other video settings make a difference, not even VBOs. Although my GPU and computer should be able to handle a draw distance of 16 chunks, (and can on other worlds,) the only way to get my framerate above 30 fps is to lower my draw distance to under 5 chunks.
The problem began in 14w30c, and has not been fixed in 14w31a. I made no changes to the world when this issue began, i simply opened the world and noticed the low framerate, which was not there when i logged out. The issue did not start from updating the snapshot either. I had been using 14w30c for a few days without any issues. This problem has appeared only on that world (as far as i know), but my computer should be able to handle everything on that world with ease. I am only using 33% of the RAM allocated for Minecraft, and Minecraft rarely uses over 20% of my CPU.
