I used invisibility potions so mobs aren't able to see me. When I walked out of my house with the invisibility activated with nothing in my hand and no armor on me, mobs were able to see me except for the spider, I could tell because all mobs saw me and attacked me while the spider just sat there as if he couldn't see me.
