When you look at ice from a certain angle, it looks like ice. When looking at the ice from a different angle, it looks transparent where you could see water. The attachments are all from the same area of ice just at different angles. I opened a new world on my other computer (different OS) and I saw the same thing. Also, whatever direction you're facing when you leave the game is what angle you can see the ice in its normal texture when you reenter the game. I'm not sure if that's significant but it's something I noticed when I restarted Minecraft 3 or more times. EDIT: I figured out how to filter threads, there was another open issue over the same issue but they didn't have a description so I'll keep this up.
