Guardians normally attack both Squids and Players/humans with the laser aiming shot, but strangely enough, in 14w28b they only perform the laser shooting at Squids, but NOT at players. If I slay a sword at them, they suddenly do damage to me, but not with a laser, more like with a combat/melee attack.
