I was building in a straight line from 0,0 in a pattern of redstone block, pink stained glass, when I reached a chunk border and placed the block it did not render until I relogged, I could break and replace the block all I wanted however it refused to render until I rejoined, again I kept building and when I reached the next chunk the same thing.
1. Create a super flat layer which only has one layer, made of barrier blocks (Not sure if this matters)
2. Teleport to the coordinates 0,0 and start building in a straight line of any block
3. When you get to the border of a chunk any blocks placed won't be rendered
