I was riding in a boat and when I fired a few shots from my bow they seemed to come from the left or the right of me. Some arrows oddly hit me after they appeared to hit the ground. The first picture is an arrow firing from the left of me after shooting; the second is another shot but coming from the right of me (you can also see damage the arrows caused me.)

Edit:

I retested it in the water then in the boat, the arrows fired perfectly in the water but once I got in the boat the problem occurred again with the arrows hitting me.
