While in my Minecraft singleplayer survival world, I was attempting to add designs for a simple base, planning on using Oak Wood for the design (not planks, just the log itself). Upon placing the block, my game crashed. I rejoined my world and attempted to to put the crash behind me and continue my design, but my game crashed once again upon placing the block. I started rejoining and tested it by putting the block in another direction, it still crashing (I am not sure if it is with all wood, but I would assume, just in case). Later, in my same world, I went to cut down a Dark Oak tree, the game gave me a block with missing textures. Upon picking it up, it's text claimed it was simply "Oak Wood" and when placed, crashed my game. I have been able to cut down normal trees in that world (by normal, I mean Oak and Birch) and they still have their textures. I cannot craft anything with this block, unlike Birch and Oak. Anyway, I would assume for now that others are having a similar problem.
