I had a hardcore game, and whenever I wanted to play it, the game would start to load but then go back to the title screen. I made a new one, but the game lagged so bad that it would freeze and eventually crash.

This only happens on Hardcore files. Normal difficulty and Creative Mode work just fine and so do multiplayer servers.
