I get generaly low fps anyway, usaly 15-30, however 1.7.2 is now the only version that i can actualy play on. 1.7.4 and onwards has somthing about it that makes my fps drop below 10, usaly to about 6. I have literally no idea why this happens after 1.7.2 in perticular, but every version past it does this. The game is truly unplayable because of this and i'm woried that if it goes unnoticed then it will cary on through to all the future versions.
