Tamed Dog Teleports into and Suffocates in Leaves

I tamed a bunch of dogs.

While running back, I found that if I ran over treetops in the forest, the dogs would teleport into the leaves instead of on top or into air blocks beneath the trees.

The dogs took suffocation damage as though they had teleported into solid blocks. Several dogs died to this behavior.
