I created a system that starts a counter for when it is detected that the player does not have a specific item in their inventory. And since they can just hold up the item in the inventory, the counter goes up in number, and ends up giving them a second one when they are supposed to only have one. I.e holding up an item while in the inventory screen doesn't count as in the player's inventory, or even in world for that matter. I'm assuming this is a bug since I cannot think of any good reason it works this way. Sorry for wasting time if it is intended. But still, it's rather dumb if it is intended.
