What I expected to happen was...:
When I put a redstone torch on a side of a block, I expected its texture to be normal.

What actually happened was...:
The backside of the torch was dark and black.

Steps to Reproduce:
Put a redstone torch on a SIDE of a block, then look at the backside of the torch.
