      Description

Putting an item into the anvil along with an enchanted book that can not be applied and renaming it will consume the book without applying its enchant. For example, put an iron helmet and a "Silk Touch 1" enchanted book in the anvil and rename the helmet to "My Helmet". You will be able to take out the renamed item, but the enchant will not be applied and the book will be gone.

I understand that it applied all enchants from the book onto the helmet (which is none of them), but if applying the book wasn't possible without renaming, it shouldn't be possible with renaming.
