/clone never deletes certain blocks even when in replace mode, including: Dispensers, Droppers, Chests, Trapped chests, Ender chests, Signs, Furnaces, Hoppers, Command blocks, and Daylight sensors.

An example is attached, showing a sign not going away. The command block is constantly cloning the blue platform to the red.
