To recreate:
Mute "Friendly Creatures" in Music & Sound options.
Break a block.

When breaking a block, the sound that should be heard as the block is being broken is muted. Raising the volume for "Friendly Creatures" seems to fix it, but this sound should not be affected by that slider.

This also seems to happen to the sound made when tilling dirt.
