Enchanted a piece of armor that had less than full durability. After the enchantment was placed, the durability bar was no longer displayed on the armor. However, the durability still showed as less than full when I hovered over the item.

Taking damage from mobs did not get the damage meter to appear. Neither did logging out/in.
