Once updated to the latest version of Minecraft 1.4.4, torch's fire animation appears at multiple random location on the screen. Especially when a large number of torches comes into viewing distance. Also happens even if the menu is displayed. Tried to capture the image without success. This issue did not occur in any of the previous version.
