In Hardcore mode and Survival mode with cheats disabled, players can bypass the no-cheats setting by opening the world to LAN and enabling commands. This undermines the intended gameplay experience, especially in Hardcore mode, where the challenge is to survive without cheating, and in Survival mode, where cheats are intentionally turned off. Furthermore, the "Allow Cheats/Commands" option should not be available when opening to LAN in Hardcore or Survival modes with cheats off. Additionally, opening to LAN should maintain the current game mode (e.g., Hardcore or Survival) without allowing changes.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Create a Hardcore or Survival world with cheats disabled.
- Pause the game and select "Open to LAN."
- Enable cheats in the LAN settings.
- Use commands (e.g., /gamemode creative or /give) that break the intended gameplay rules.
Expected Behavior:
-
- The "Allow Cheats/Commands" option should not be available when opening to LAN in Hardcore or Survival (with cheats off).
- Opening to LAN should maintain the current game mode (e.g., Hardcore remains Hardcore; Survival remains Survival).
- Commands should not be accessible in LAN mode unless cheats were originally enabled when creating the world.
Impact:
-
-
- This loophole undermines the intended difficulty and challenge of Hardcore mode.
- It also affects Survival mode, where cheats are deliberately turned off by the player for a more authentic experience.
- Allowing changes to cheats and game modes via LAN contradicts the intended restrictions of these modes.
