Tridents that collide with a block before entering a end crystals hitbox do not destroy end crystals like arrows do and unlike being thrown directly from the player

To replicate this place an end crystal, place a block 2 blocks above, next throw the trident onto the top surface of the block and finally break the block without collecting the trident.

It will pass straight through it.
