The Bug
Introduced in 24w36a.
If a flaming arrow is shot on the ground (by a Flame-enchanted bow or by shooting an arrow through lava), and then water or powder snow is placed where it landed, the arrow stays burning. This was not the case in 1.21.1; the flaming arrow would extinguish when in contact with water or powder snow, even after landing.
If a flaming arrow lands before it starts raining, the arrow does not extinguish.
If a flaming arrow is shot into water or powder snow, the expected behavior occurs, where the arrow is no longer on fire.
Steps to Reproduce
- Give yourself a water bucket or powder snow bucket, as well as a Flame bow using this command:
/give @s minecraft:bow[minecraft:enchantments={flame:1}]
- Shoot the arrow into the ground.
- Place water or powder snow in its location.
Observed Results
The arrow does not extinguish when in water or powder snow.
Expected Results
The arrow extinguishes when in contact with water or powder snow, even if placed after landing.
