When playing, certain keys frequently stop working when held down.

I have tried a number of solutions to fix this problem, such as restarting my PC, reinstalling my keyboard driver, uninstalling and reinstalling minecraft, running the windows ctfmon.exe command, and checking the connection of my keyboard cable. None of the things I tried has resolved the issue. I have tried other games but have been able to determine that this is an issue specific to minecraft on my computer.

      What happens:

I press and hold W to move forward, the character would take a few steps or so, then stop in place (even though the key is still being held down). The amount distance the character will travel varies each time; sometimes I can only go a step or two, other times I can move forward for a few seconds.

This issue is affecting other movement keys as well.
