When lightning strikes, any nearby items are instantly deleted. This means that mobs killed by lightning will not drop their items, which includes turtles dropping bowls.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Enter a world in creative
2. Obtain turtle spawn egg from the inventory
3. Obtain a channeling trident
4. Place some turtles in an area
5. Run the command /weather thunder
6. Throw the trident at one of the turtles
7. Notice how none of the turtles dropped anything

Expected outcome:

Lightning wouldn't destroy items that mobs drop so that we can get special drops such as the turtle's bowl

Observed outcome:

Lightning destroys items, meaning any mob killed by lightning won't drop anything.
